Is anyone not getting a shower?

I feel a little left out on the whole shower thing. My wedding date is 10/12 and no shower to speak of.
I guess I'm just feeling a little blue lately-my family doesn't seem to care about my upcoming wedding-not that I ever expected them to drop everything. But some of my friends and cousins keep asking me about a shower and I have no idea what to tell them.
Any one else going through this?

maybe you are getting one and dont know?
i always worry i wont get much off my registry.
i told my moh she didnt even have to throw me a shower. dont be blue, look foward to your wedding.
just be honest with them when they ask you.

You know-I haven't gotten anything off my registry! I feel a little selfish talking about this kind of stuff but my family really doesn't seem to care-they haven't even sent their reply cards back yet.

leelee the most important thing is we are marrying our true loves! gifts or no gifts, shower or no shower, who cares. i honestly wouldn't if i wasn't getting a shower. i really did say she didn't have to throw me one because my mom doesn't really have money and even with the girls chipping in with my mom, it can be expensive and i don't want to put anyone through that.
of course everyone dreams of a shower but to me it wouldn't matter.

I'm so sorry you feel this way! Maybe your friends and family are about to pull the biggest surprise on you! Wouldn't that just be wonderful?? Give them the benefit of the doubt - there's still time before the wedding!

I went through a similar sort of feeling with my wedding. I had the unfortunate circumstance of being the third wedding in three years for my family, so by the time came to plan my shower, bachelorette, bridesmaid luncheon, etc...no one wanted to hear anything about it!

Thankfully, my Mom threw my shower and just asked the BP to take care of decorations, invitations, favors, and a gift from them. However, I never had a bachelorette party. I had my cousins and a few friends promise to put something together for me, and it never happened. I was very disappointed, but I was also adamant that I would not plan my own party - I felt this was something they should have done in my honor.

I remember feeling like NO ONE wanted to be bothered with wedding stuff, or with celebrating with me and it made me very sad. But, I will say that it didn't effect my happiness on my wedding day. Keep your chin up! The most important day is the wedding day. Best wishes to you.

I wouldn't worry just yet! I have been to several showers that were a month before the wedding. You are still a few weeks away from that, so who knows what might be in the works

Hopefully you'll be gettin one as a surprise, you never know, but i wouldn't beat myself up about it. Like the ladies say, marrying your FH is the most important !!!!
Hey, my sisters already told me they don't want to be involved in shower planning, so it's up to my BP!!! I'm not even offended, I know it's a lot of work, and they are doing so much already !!!

I hope they are pulling your leg and planning a wonderful surprise for you. Don't feel blue. I am sure people are working on something. Can you tell your MOH that she needs to speak with your cousins? Maybe that will give her the hint.

You may be getting one. One of my showers was a week before my wedding. Talk about close, but they had no other choice. I live in VA and I got married in NY and the girls up there wanted to do something for me so they had to make sure of all things I was actually in NY.

You never know what your friends and even mother are up.
