I don't think that my hall can fit us in for a rehearsal the night before the wedding (the rooms are booked for parties, but I'll see if we can get in earlier). Most of the bridal party isn't local, so a Friday night would be impossible to coordinate.
Is anyone skipping the rehearsal?
thanks

Re: Is anyone NOT having a ceremony rehearsal?
me!
the Rabbi is going to do a walk through with us, the BP and the parents about 1 hour before the ceremony.
I'm not worried about it. I've been in so many weddings, it's not rocket science

I think it's funny that we know that it's not tough, but mothers tend to believe otherwise

Re: Is anyone NOT having a ceremony rehearsal?
I don't think we are... i'm sure our hall will have weddings that fri night before so we wouldn't be able to do a rehearsal. It seems easy enough and most of my BMs have been in weddings before so as long as they know where to stand after they walk down the aisle it should be fine!
We might do a little run through in my moms backyard if anything after the dinner.

Re: Is anyone NOT having a ceremony rehearsal?
I'm probably not. They only can do rehearsals on the Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday before the event (since they book Thursdays & Fridays), but Tuesday is 4th of July so I just don't see it working out.
We're having a pretty simple ceremony, so I think everyone can handle it w/o a rehearsal

we are only doing a rehersal about 30 minutes before the real thing at the hall. maybe you can do that.

We aren't. We have no bridal party - just the two of us. I think we can manage... I hope.

Eventhough my party is very small, I have to. It will bother me soo much if something that I didn't want occured.

Re: Is anyone NOT having a ceremony rehearsal?
My location is a little unusual, and involves stairs, so I think it's in my best interest to have a rehersal. In fact, I personally am planning to practice walking down those stairs in heels and a long skirt before the rehersal.

Re: Is anyone NOT having a ceremony rehearsal?
We will do a rehearsal an hour before (minus me), but I preferred we did one, so at the Rehersal Dinner we got a private room so we could do a run down... here's why...
1. We have quite a few kids and it would be nice if they had an idea of what the heck we were doing. 2. We decided to do things a little different than most weddings we've been in (line up, etc.) and would prefer to get the 'BS' out of the way the night before than have 50 million questions that morning.

We arent either but there is a reason why Jewish couples don't generally do rehearsals. It is because a man and woman are not to stand before G-d and the Torah unless they are taking their vows. To do a rehearsal, (to some people) takes away from the sanctity and holiness of those vows. They may practice with the bridal party only and then simply 'direct' the bride and groom when it is their time. My only concern is that I lose my count when I walk around FH seven times!!!
