I agree! I even started describing how the dust sticks to the wax over time when the officiant mentioned it. LOL. We aren't doing any of that stuff. We chose to do a simple ceremony, no fancy things. The only thing that we are actually 'doing' is FH will break the glass. And I found a site that sells them pretty and we will display the broken pieces in the house. We will also have our vows embroidered onto hankies so that's another keepsake we have.

just a candle. it takes like 2 minutes and i think it's special. but it's totally not necessary

I'm def not. So not my thing plus it will be breezy outside by the water at our ceremony.
