i am going to the gyno tomorrow to talk about getting on birth control..so i dont get my period on my honeymoon or wedding..also to help regulate me.
but.... in the past on many bcps.... i got very sick etc... so i read the new bcp YAZ and the ring called Nuva ring are low dose and less side effects.
if you are on nuvaring..can you insert the rings back to back to keep from getting af... like you can with bcps?? do you like nuvaring?
also if you are on YAZ /( not yasmin.. YAZ is a new bcp like yasmin but lower estrogen) how does it work for you?? ty!!!
ps..my wedding is less than 3 months away and i am sooooooo due for insane af right about that time..sigh~~ lol

My SIL uses nuva ring back to back, so she only has AF 2 times per year. She love it and no hormonal side effects.

I cannot tell you how much I love NuvaRing. I went on it about 2 1/2 years ago and I've had no problems. You don't have to think about it at all. You put it in and 3 weeks later take it out. I haven't actually tried skipping my period, but I'm pretty sure that you can do that if you want.

I hated the NuvaRing. I went on it because it was supposed to be the lowest dose, but I had worse side effects on it than either orthotricyclen lo or yasmin. I was moody, achey, I'd get dizzy when I first put it in, it sped up my heartbeat, and I started having panic attacks.
I hated NuvaRing so much that I've sworn off hormonal birth control altogether, and am just using condoms for a while. I just can't stand the thought of going through that again.
A lot of people love it, so I think you'd probably have to try it for yourself, but just keep your eyes open for side effects when you're on it.

I just started Yaz . I am on my 2nd week so i dont have any helpful info for you. I had swtiched from the patch due to all the crazy reports. Everything seems to be ok for now (yaz)..

I went on the Nuva ring about 6 months ago and love it. I haven't had any side effects that I had when I took Tri-cyclean. The only thing that I don't like about it is that I find that I have to eat more yogurt (or take acidopholis) so something else doesn't happen (sorry if TMI, I am trying to be daint about it) It is GREAT putting it in and leaving it there for the 3 weeks. I was horrible with remembering to take the pill on the weekends because my wake up time and bed time were different from during the week . . . .

well it seems we are all different and i guess thats why there are sooo many dif kinds of bcps.
fh and i have had to use condoms too ...but even if i can go on some sort of bc for a few months just so i dont bleed like crazzzzzzy around the wedding..at least that would be good. i hate condoms!! bleeech!!!
i will give an update tomorrow.... at least so others can know what the dr says about nuvaring back to back for skipping periods.
