Is anyone on the NuvaRing

i'm currently on the patch and my OBGYN wants me to get off of it because its dangerous.

She recommended the NuvaRing since I like not worrying about taking something daily.

i'm a little skeptical about how it works though.

anyone use it??

i used to be on the patch - LOVED IT - once i switched back to the pill i lost weight - like 5lbs and have since kept it off - i thought that the ring was the same deal as the patch when it comes to the amount of horomones you are receiving? just as dangerous although im not sure b/c i havent seen any patch ads or anything for awhile but still see nuva ring ads - my doctor advised me to get off the patch sometime last year b/c it may be dangerous - but i LOVED using it! except for that dirt ring on my butt!

ok this might be alittle TMI, but here i got


i used the nuraring for aboout 3 months, i ended up with 2 of the worst yeast infections ever, and i ended up with some other kind of infection. Finally, i stopped using it and went back to the pill, i havent had any problems since.

i have a question - how easy is it to insert and remove? i have a hard enough time with tampons

Very easy! And you dont even feel it.

Why not try seasonique? you only get your friend every 3 months. Personally, I don't like the idea of sticking things in there (other then the obvious, of course)

does it get shoved up there? thats all i keep imagining and it scares me!

i love the patch! i've been on it almost 6 years and never a problem.

2 of my friends however went on it and had to get pulled off because their legs were cramping up (sign of blood clots!) scary!

i was on it for two years. Oddly, my gyn switched me to the patch. she said the hype was exaggerated.

I love the idea of NR, but it's like my body was rejecting it and honestly you kind of knew it was there during sex.

my body did not like it i was on it for 3 months...i went off and am on yaz which i love but probably switching after the honeymoon i need a generic brand (something cheaper haha)

um...but i was on the patch as well and loved it doctor said get off so i went ot the nuvaring but i hated it and i actually started using it when Chris was home once on leave and he hated it as well saying he could feel it (sorry TMI) lol

my dr said it's really only bad for people who tend to be prone or have a history or smoke.

my dh said the same thing he could feel it, then i thought maybe i had it in wrong and i went to the dr to see if i had it in right and i did

I've been on like every pill known to man and had side effects on all of them. I've been on the NuvaRing for over a year (maybe even 2) and I love it. Never feel it (either of us). I guess like everything, it's different with different people. I'd love to try one of those pills where you only get it 4 times a year, but I don't think it would be worth switching.

TMI section: I have spotting when I use a low dose (& my close friend get pregnant from taking a low dose since you are supposed to take it at the same exact time every day OR ELSE - that used to scare the heck out of me). And I get bad headaches, mood swings and everything else on a really strong dose. None of these problems with NuvaRing.

My friend used it and likes it, but for the first few weeks she was a raging, hormonal lunatic We used to work together, I sat right behind her and wanted to punch her in the back of the head sometimes
