You do what YOU want. Its perfectly fine. If that what works for you, DO IT!

I am Jewish and Jewish tradition is both parents walk you down the aisle.

When my Dad died in May, I thought about it but, then asked my Uncle (his brother). I thought it would make him feel better (and it did). I am Jewish btw...but my Mom thinks my Uncle should do it alone...

OMG I was just going to post this exact topic. My mother will be angry but I'm thinking about it. My uncle/godfather was supposed to give me away but his son is having knee surgery the week before (there go 3 ushers) and they don't think they'll make it up from Florida. My mom keeps pushing for her and my stepdad or just my stepdad but I kind of think I'd rather just go myself. I saw one wedding where the bride walked halfway down the aisle and the groom met her and walked the rest of the way. I'd really like my stepdad to escort my mom.

I had a friend who did and her husband met her half way. . her thought was that someone walking with you is only important if that person is important to you and she didnt feel like there was someone in the position to do it. . and that she wanted just to feel love in the moment and not think about the person with her just being a replacement for something

my other friend had her best male friend do it. . they had been friends for over 12 years and that was sweet too .. her dad wasnt in the pic and she didnt want her mom to do it
