you missed the best part of the movie. After her husband dies, she becomes a different woman in the sense that she can finally be herself and liberates more. she then meets this younger guy who she finds attractive and then they start dating and she decides to go with him. Afterwards they are pretty much traveling around working in the land and she is so happy with him, but then there is a hurricane which they survived but he has been bitten by a dog with rabies and loses his mind to the point where he is trying to shoot her but she ends up shooting him trying to defend herself. that's it, it goes back to where she tells her friend what happened.
