Just wondering if any other brides out there, have fiances who do not drink. My fiance decided to give it up 2 years ago and I'm so afraid that he is going to be so uncomfortable at our own wedding. Has anyone been through this or is going to go through this with their significant other?

My DH drinks socially, but I have several members of my family who do NOT drink at all. None of them are uncomfortable at bars or parties, and none were uncomfortable (or felt any pressure) at our wedding.
Have you spoken to your FH about it? I'm sure he's learned over the past 2 years how to deal with people offering him drinks, etc.
The ONLY sip of alcohol I had at my wedding was the champagne in the limo and a tiny sip at the BM's toast. Had I not wanted it, the staff would have given us sparkling water or cider or whatever we wanted. When they asked me what I wanted to drink, I just told them water. No big deal.

MY FH has been sober for 2 years. We are inviting a nice mix of friends, family and sober friends so it should be fine. I really don't drink that much, and will only have about 1 drink @ the wedding.

My FH does not drink. He's never ever been drunk. I think in his lifetime he's consumed about 4 beers total. He just doesn't like it and never got into to it. He won't be drinking at the wedding. I can't really drink too much either. I turn bright red when I drink, so it will have to wait until later in the evening....
FH will be participating in toasts and other stuff like that, but that would be all he would drink. He is never uncomfortable about it.

I used to party all the time and now I hardly ever drink. Maybe two drinks a year, and that's stretching it. I am worried that I will not be as free and ready to let loose (all the stress) as I would if I had a couple of drinks. I am going to try to sip wine all night, it usually gives me a happy buzz, that way if there are any problems I can just roll with them instead of freaking out about it.

I haven't had a drink in about twelve years. I'll probably have some O'Doul's if anything but usually I'm just a tea-totaller. My FH drinks (asked him to please take it easy on our wedding day-just have two or three drinks, but no wine because that makes him really sleepy :)

my FH doesnt drink as well. His face gets really red with a sip of beer I'm worried if he sips champane on in the wedding his face is going to turn red.. then his face will be red in all the pictures
I'm sure he wont be uncomfortable. I hope my FH wont feel uncomfortable o.o

My DH has been sober for almost 4 years now and he had no problems at the wedding. We had Odouls for him and for our toast we used sparkling cider. He had an absolute blast at the party and was never uncomfortable at all. If you are having concerns or worrying about it, talk to your FH. Chances are, he will put your mind at ease.

mine is a non-drinker, so much so that he has never even tasted a drop of alcohol. so for the toast, we are gonna do the whole cider thing (like someone else here mentioned). however, i will be drinking and FH has absolutely no problem with it. he could be in a room full of drunk people and it doesn't bother him.
is your FH woried about this or are you?

i'm the non-drinker. FH had a major alcohol issue when we first got together & so does my mother....so i just don't drink at all...

my DH doesn't drink and celebrated a huge milestone on our wedding date of all days...he doesn't mind being around others who drink (as long as they are not drunk)...or alcohol, but will not go into a bar or a place that the smell of alcohol is overwhelming...because of this we limited our liquor at our wedding to unlimited beer & wine and had a signature drink...we did have an inside bar with any drinks if people really wanted them, but they had to pay...(it's not that we were being cheap..but more to deter it)...and friends and family understood and actually agreed with us...i don't really drink that much myself (anymore...) and had half a signature drink at the wedding...we also didn't have toasts..but that was for other reasons.

My FH won't even drink O'Douls. He just doesn't even want to go there.

FH is a lush...but has never drunk. So I'm not worried about him.
I don't drink because I just don't like the taste or the way it makes me feel the next day. My FH is a drunk, but I love him anyway.
I think if it's a question of staying sober with a program... I think that often times sober people are put into situations where there is beer and liquor and they just stick with soda. I've seen people who have been in rehab around it and they just bring a big bottle of water, etc.

My Fiance stopped drinking 4 years ago. My family is also-non drinkers. I would just make sure he gets to as many meetings as he needs. If he is workking the program correctly he should be okay. Be there to support him.
