Is anyone's FH/Groomsmen...

Is anyone's FH/Groomsmen...

...not wearing Tuxedos and opted to do designer suits instead? If so, where did they go to get them?

FH had been back and forth for a while about what he wanted to do with the guys but he's decided on suits and the GMs are all cool with it. I just don't know if they should go to MW or if anyone has a better suggestion where they can get nice suits that won't burn a hole in their wallets.

TIA!

have you checked out the suit section at JC Penney? Their all relatively inexpensive and good quality!

I said that to FH (actually I suggested Macys) and he was like 'I am not going to Macys for my wedding suit - I want a nice suit' and I told him that they have very nice suits! I was looking up the suits they have at MW and they all seems so expensive.

Syms in Westbury has some great suit selections for a decent price to. Hubby bought his 3piece suit from there that he wore for our wedding.

We're going with black suits as well. We're not placing a stipulation on what kind of suits the GMs have to wear, just black.

But for FI he has no nice black suit so we've been looking at designer suits as well. He's look in particular at Hugo Boss. The prices at the outlets aren't that bad.

I would suggest taking a day trip out to Tanger or Woodbury.

Just be weary because a lot of suits these days are 'slim fit' which is so annoying.

Calvin Klein has nice suits, Saks Fifth Avenue also has a whole bunch. Banana Republic, Brookes Brothers.

GL!

thank you for the suggestions. I actually even just looked at J Crew but those seem like they may be pricey. For FH, I know he would pay a decent amount of $$ for his suit bhut I don't want out GMs to feel obligated to spend a lot of money on one.

So you guys want all the boys to be in the same suit?

What if your FH is in a different suit (designer) then the groomsmen can all settle on a place together to get suits if you want them to match? Like a Macys or JcPenneys? That way your FH gets his designer suit and he stands out and your GM won't have to pay $$$$ for a designer suit?

that sounds like an idea. Would it look weird if FH was in a different suit than the GMs?

I personally don't think so.

We're always looking for ways for the Groom to stand out right? Whether it be through a different tie or boutonniere. So why not just a different suit since your FH wants something designer but you don't want to ask your GM to spend that much.

It's a option. =)

I'll bring it up to him and see what he thinks.

Thanks for the suggestion!

A suit is a good choice, especially since it says your wedding is at 3pm and a tuxedo is considered evening wear and is not to be worn before 6pm.

I would say to stay away from black during the day. A black suit can look like you are going to a funeral. Try a navy, charcoal, or medium gray. Solids work well.

I'd check Syms and Jos. A. Bank advertised a really good sale recently on tv...buy 1, second $99, third free. Didn't see it online but I'd check it out...
