Is David's Bridal worth the trip?

Is David's Bridal worth the trip?

For bridesmaid/flower girl dresses? Or am I totally covered by going to Paradise Bridals tomorrow?

I made an appointment with Paradise Bridals...but I'm not sure if they asked if it was just for me or the bridal party. Do you normally have to make a separate appointment for bridal party at all? Or is it really just the bride that needs an appointment? We're taking the kids, but I still want to try on a few for myself and get some trying on done for them too.

Thanks!!

By the way, my experience at Bridal Reflections today blew. For one thing, she wanted to talk me out of my under 1K budget. I decided on that budget as I figured I would go with a Maggie Sottero. Well, she didn't have any of the Maggies I wanted, only gave me one and barely gave me the time of day and didn't have a CLUE how to find what I liked.

Lillette's on the other hand, was awesome. Pat had me trying on things that were always a possiblity, and she never descriminated by price. So I'll definitely go back to Lillette's soon!!

I don't know anything about Paradise Bridals, but Helen's Wedding World on Austin Blvd has a decent selection of Maggie Sottero dresses, (for BM's they carry - Bill Levkoff, Alfred Angleo, Impression, Jordan, and I can't remember who else) the staff is SUPER friendly, you don't need an appointment - but they are closed on Mondays.

Do you think all we'll need is an hour & a half for me as well as them? Basically, I made an appt at David's for 10am, then Paradise at 1pm, then I have a photographer in the same general area at 3. Is that cutting it too close? I pretty much know what kind of gown I want- I'm looking for one other Maggie Sottero...so it's really more for them than me. Is that enough time at Paradise? I might try to get in a little earlier and just forget about David's. Ugh I'm clueless!

Nope, just BM and FG dresses....my sister always says it's a pain to shop there cuz it's all off the rack. I don't wanna go if it's gonna be a pain in the butt.

I just ordered my dress from Paradise Bridal. I don't know who your appt is with, but mine was Stephanie and she was really great. I tried on a few Maggie's while I was there, they have really nice gowns. They give you alot of attention there, I was there from 10 am to 1pm. Just trying on dresses for myself. I do know that there is a David's Bridal opening very soon in Smithtown. Since you have more time to order BM dresses, you could always go when the other one opens.

So does Paradise have a huge selection of Maggies? I went to Lillette's- I found one of the two that I loved. But there's one more I need to find (Samara Lynette)! I hope they have it!!! Otherwise, I might be going with Monterey! Which Maggie are you going with?

I thought David's Bridal had a great selection of bridesmaid dresses. I only had my MOH in my wedding party, but we found a great very reasonably priced dress for my sister...I would recommend it. Didn't have any problems with alterations either. Good luck...

How is it shopping for separates there? I'm thinking I want a white top/navy bottom for my MOHs. I go on their website and it seems like only certain tops come in white!

As a former David's employee, the separates are not off the rack, they have to be ordered. Yes, only certain tops come in white.

Personally, as a woman who bought her dress and her BM dresses at David's, I'm not a big fan of David's for anything wedding related. I have used them for buying myself dresses for formal occasions and loved them, but for my wedding they were incompetant and a huge hassle.

The only reason to go there for your wedding dress, IMO, is if you're on a tight budget (and really, it's not entirely necessary because you can get several designers' dresses for the same price range). Bridesmaids dresses there are nice enough, but it's not like their prices are any better than anyone else's.

So to answer your question, no, I don't think David's is worth the trip.

I think you should be able to find everything at Paradise. I didn't get my dress there but I got all of the dresses, my dress, BM & FG at the Bridal Suite in Bay Shore. Personally I didn't think David's had that much to chose from. But that is just my opinion.
