Is FH being rude?
With just about 5 1/2 months to go, FH has still not asked his final GM to be in the wedding.
His reasoning makes him look like a real tool, and he's really not THAT big of a jerk, but his friend is just plain and simple weird. His first main concern was that he would show up in sneakers, or start laughing during the ceremony. I said that his friend seems to have enough of a healthy fear of me that he wouldn't dare, but I'm not going to push FH to ask someone he's not certain of.
He's really socially awkward and a bit manic. Whenever FH is just about to ask him, he goes in to a tailspin about something, either a girl, his appearance, etc., and FH just can't bring himself to ask him to be in our wedding when he's all depressed.
Now apparently he's going to get elective jaw surgery for an underbite because he thinks he's so bad looking. MY underbite is worse, and it's really just all in his head. So now FH doesn't want to ask him because of the surgery, and if it's close to the wedding if he'll be all messed up looking in pics. I told you it makes FH look really jerky.
I told him that he's really let it go to the point now where he's just being rude. FH says because his friend has no concept of what's socially right and wrong, that it's fine to ask this late in the game. I still think it's pretty rude to ask now though. We need to start looking at tuxes in the next few months, and I don't want him to be like oh by the way, you're in my wedding, come spend 150 on a tux rental.
FH only has a best man and a GM if that has any baring on the situation. If this was your FH, would you just tell him to forget it and only have 2 GM, or would you let him wait until the 11th hour and ask the guy, being inappropriate about it.
