In deciding where to get married, one of the places doesn't have the outdoor feeling that I am looking for but love their ballroom. Do you think it is too much to take pics at a park/garden beforehand? Wedding would start around 6pm.

Do you mean a lot pricewise or a lot to do in the day?
As for the second queston, I think you can manage it- lots of people do it.
As for the first question, it depends where you go! The Gazebo in Garden City is free, other places have various fees.

were taking pics before our ceremony, and our ceremony starts at 1130--so pics will be between 9 and 11 .. kinda early, but oh well

Well, guess it depends what you mean by too much? Do you mean too much $$$? - it does add cost. We're getting married at a place that has the outdoors too but decided to spend the extra $$ to go to the planting fields to take pics before the ceremony (6pm). We ended up having to get limos for everyone and pay the fee for the gardens.

I think you can definitely do it...your wedding doesnt start till 6 i would allow 2 hours before +travel time to take pics somewhere...that way you'll get beautiful pics before-hand and then be able to enjoy your entire wedding! I think you made the right choice going for the ballroom btw

Our wedding doesnt start until 8:30pm and its in the winter. I want to get some daylight shots so we will be going to another location (not sure where) for pictures before the ceremony. There might be a wedding before ours so we cant take pictures at the manor

We are taking pictures in a park (free) before the church then at our RH after the church ......as long as you time the ceremony and recepetion apart enough if they are at different venues you should be ok
