to include the name of a parent on the invitations even if they won't be at the wedding due to illness? I'm having a hard time finding the answer to this question.

Re: Is it appropriate...
I am a little confused the name of one of your parents on the actual wedding invitation or the name of a guest and their parents?

If its already understood that she is not able to make it then I would not put it on. If you are not sure then I would. JMO
Oh you meant you or FH's parent???

Sorry if that was confusing! The name of FH's father on the invites. Unfortunately he will not be able to be there but I would love to still honor him by naming him on the invites.

Oh then I ABSOLUTELY would put his name. He is still his dad and he is still alive.

Re: Is it appropriate...
In all honesty...everyone keeps telling me I can't put my parents name on the invitation because they are deceased...I don't care...they are still my parents.
I say...put whoever you want on your invitation. I'm pretty sure only us wedding planning chicky mamas are the only ones who care about these little details...LOL

that's crazy! I think you have every right to put your parents name on there, there are so many ways to word it, that i think it's silly and almost insulting that anyone would tell you otherwise.
