Is it appropriate for a vendor

Is it appropriate for a vendor

to send a soliciting FM in response to a question on BHB NOT VHB? This happened and I posted it but got no response and was curious.

NO!!!

But I have had problems with that in the past as well... a few different times with a few different vendors
Needless to say I am not using any of them.

Definately not. Report them to Ron & Liz!

How do I do that?

I'm not sure of the Vendor Rules... I guess it is a public forum and anyone can FM you... BUT you might want to let them know maybe they can tell this venodr to knock it off. Click on a post started by LIWeddings and then FM from there.

this happened to me as well

that definitely seems fishy to me. i mean, it's reasonable to expect that vendors would lurk, but to actually respond to a BHB post? i feel like that's really crossing the line. i would definitely report them.

I agree but the only problem is that some of the vendors are actually brides themselves. I got my make-up done by Jaqueline Nicole who is a vendor but also a bride. So that is where it gets kind of tricky

Yeah. What would happen if I ever decide to become an official vendor here and get back into the wedding DJ business?

I am definitely getting married in May. But I could also offer my DJ services to anyone thats interested. I throw a very good wedding... considering I come from a bar/club/party atmosphere.

I guess the problem with this is I am not entirely motivated to do weddings. The money is very good..... my wedding rates were very reasonable ($500-800)... but its a lot of work. I do them when asked... but Sutton Place keeps me pretty busy and their pay is good and the work is easy.

Well, it seems like that would be a clear delineation. Comment as a bride or groom but don;t solicit for business. Like, as someone with a lot of music expertise, it would be awesome for you to post musical segueways or songs for someone who was urious but you probably would not FM someone who was interested in knowing which version of Come Rain or Come Shine was sang when by pushing them to hire you. Does that make sense? I mean, I think you can be both...

I'm just curious - was this a florist? i was getting fm's for a while from a florist about things i was posting on BHB - it really annoyed me - i just ignored it.

Mrs. Wask -- funny this florist must be doing it to a lot of folks -- you're the third FM i got asking that very question. I will FM you who it is.
