No, it's not bad, you really only need to register before the shower invites go out, so I would say you have some time, but I would try to do it as soon as your wedding invites go out!!!

I didn't register until March 2005 for my Oct. 2005 wedding. If you register too soon, you run the risk of items being discontinued....

When I first got engaged, a lot of people were wondering when I would register because they wanted to buy us an engagement gift, but wanted to make sure it was something we wanted, off the registry. just something to think about

I would register soon. It's one less thing to take care of during the last few months before your wedding. We registered 1 or 2 months after getting engaged b/c people wanted to send us engagement gifts and they wanted to give us things from our registry.

I register early for the same reason- I did get a lot of gifts off my registry for our enagement- it worked out well!
but people tended to buy the vases and cake cuter, toasting flute gifts over the more housewares stuff!

exactly! this way you get what you what and like. we registered 2 weeks after getting engaged. the funny thing was, an hour after we got engaged, people were asking where we were registered!

no harm in Registering soon, you can always modify your registry
