I carry 2 pd. weights and do arm excercises while doing my daily walk on the treadmill. I heard it could be bad for your back. Is this true?

i amnot sure about the back, but I have read that it may give you something similar to tennis elbow.

I never heard about the tennis elbow thing, does anyone else know if that is true?

I sometimes carry 2.5 lbs in each hand when I walk uphills - never when I run or anything though. I probably do that once a week or so, and make sure to stretch before and after... I'm curious if anyone here knows if that's a bad thing?
I know it's not good to put weights on your ankles or anything - I've heard those back vests with weights are great, but I do prefer to just carry my little two pounders in my hands because it feels natural, like skiing or something.

I don't think so.

I hope it's not bad.. I work my arms with 2-5lb weights while on a stationery bike.
