We are moving the date up to this September from June 2009 for a handful of reasons. My MOH is very PG and with a 3 year old already it is a little hard for her to come with me to look at dresses. My mother had fallen very ill and is not able to come with me I have another sister but am not asking her to be in my wedding party since we are only having MOH and Bestman but feel awkward asking her to go with me.
Would it be weird if I went to try on dresses by myself?

No not at all , actually kleinfleds has a web cam specifically for this reason they can take shots of you in your dress. Then you give your mom a call and she goes to the website types in a code and voila she can see you. good luck and take lots of pics wherever you go.

You can go by yourself its actually easier this way its your decision and only your decision so when you put that dress on you can say its the one and if you want to show some1 else you can take pictures and show it off. My friend did it for her wedding and she felt it was the best thing she could ever do because know one motivated her it was all on her. Just remember to take lots of pictures

Its not crazy at all...nmight help u keep a clear head.
By why not ask your other sister...since you already have a MOH...it might make her feel special and included if her job is to take u dress shopping..

not at all....i was going to go by myself but ended up going with my FH instead and we had so much fun.....i really didnt have anyone to go with either so i brought him....

I would love FH to come with but we are not seeing eachother and would love to see his face for the firstime. I could always bring him but go back and buy the dress on my own. This would keep the element of surprise.

I went to try on dresses on my own at first. I didn't want to drag them to a million stores, so after I narrowed down my choices I then had some of my bridesmaids come to help me make the final decision.

I went dress shopping by myself. That's prob why the decision was so hard for me. I tried on at least 70 dresses (and those are the ones I remembered)

i did not expect to find the dress when he was with me....but i did....so he saw the dress....i have to say that it was literally 10 sizes to big on me and there were clips everywhere also im changing the neckline to a very deep sweetheart - so even though he has an idea of what i'll look like i think he'll still be surprised to see me when the dress actually fits, the neckline is altered, i have on a veil, and im all done up.....plus he has awhile to forget what it looked like anyway.....
we are seeing eachother before the ceremony to take pictures....
my FH said he really enjoyed himself coming with me....it depends, you both have to be comfortable with the idea - some FH's dont want to know anything about the dress....my FH was into helping me pick it out....

it is actually recommended that you go by yourself a few times, that way you know what YOU like and you're not influenced by your family and friends' opinions....I wish I had done that....it would've saved me $300

There is nothing wrong with going by yourself!! My sister found her dress all alone. Sometimes its better than hearing someones opinion. I brought 5 girls to pick out our bridesmaid dresses and got something I hated. I just changed them this weekend!!
If you dont want to go alone and feel like you dont have anyone to ask...ask a close friend I highly doubt they would be insulted. Thats what friends are for =)

I think it's completely fine to go by yourself. I have a hard time shopping for anything with other people around so sometimes it feels good to just go alone.

It's not weird at all...
The first couple of times I went dress shopping, I went with my Mom and FMIL...but when I found my dress online and wanted to try it on before ordering it, I went alone..it was just easier since I went right after work...

I don't think it's weird at all to go by yourself- it gives you a chance to really find what you want and also if you happen to find a gown that you like (or two or three that you can decide) then you can call in the people that you feel would give their honest opinions.

i think it would be fine going solo. The sales people at the salon seem to be very honest and they know what dresses look good on you...so i think you will be ok...
