for BM to buy the bride gifts for her bridal shower? one of my BM is having her bridal shower next week and i haven't gotten her a gift yet. one of my friends said that since i'm helping to pay for and throw the shower, i'm not required to buy a gift. that feels wrong to me. shouldn't i still get her something? i'd love to save the money, since i've already spent over $1000 just to be in the wedding (flying from AZ to VA is EXPENSIVE!!) , but i don't want to seem cheap/tacky either!!

Generally, you should buy a gift. Especially if she is your BM .... JMO

Not sure, maybe you could get her something small and inexpensive, just so you don't feel wierd. I am sure she knows you are helping with the shower and she doesn't expect anything.

yeah, i totally think i should get her something. i really feel uncomfortable NOT getting something. but even some of the other BM have said they aren't going to. granted, most of them suck and haven't done ANYTHING, but that's besides the point.

I got my friend something small from her registry- since I threw the shower and I actually attended another shower for her- the one that I just attended I got her a bunch of small stuff off her registry- I spent about 50$ on it, and for the shower I threw her, I got her a bouquet and disposalbe cameras, then I got them developed and made a scrap book for her that I gave her the night before her wedding.
I understand your feelings- I spent about 2,000$ on my friend's wedding, but you should still get her little things for the shower
