Is it just me..?

Or does anyone else feel like ripping their ears off everytime Coldplay comes on the radio??

Reminds me of the mid-80's when it was all I could do to keep from gouging out my eyeballs every time there was a Steve Winwood video on MTV!!!

OMG - yes, yes, and YES!!!

I thought I was the only one who didn't loooove them!!

I *HATE* them and for the life od me do not understand all the fuss!!

It seems like all I hear is that new song and it just hasn't grabbed me!

I ended up seeing them live a while ago.

That voice singing live = bleeding eardrums.

Yeah - I used to listen to their CD over and over when I was feeling depressed. It didn't really make me feel any better, but somehow it helped

I like them on occassion....but Tom insists on listening to an entire cd of them in the car sometimes, and it's all I can do to not jump out of the moving car after about 3 identical songs!!!

he also bought their newest cd.....and it's pretty much all of their old songs with new words

I really don't care for them either...

They're one of those groups that every song sounds the same in my head.

I don't like the weirdness.

I do admit that I love the song 'yellow' because that's my favorite color.
i tend to obsess over my favorites of things(see johnny depp avatar) and it makes me excited when i hear songs about them.....i'm silly like that.

That's what I thought! At first I was like... 'hmm, maybe I'm just not paying attention.' But no, they were all identical to their previous albums! And I actually liked Parachutes, until they kept re-recording it for every subsequent album.

WORD!! We saw a commercial for X&Y last night and the song and video they showed during the ad was Speed of Sound. I was like, is it just really overplayed, or is that their only song???? Maybe it's just because all of their songs sound the same!

Yellow, Trouble, Parachutes, We Never Change and Life is For Living are all awesome songs! That's what made that album so good, they were all haunting and beautiful and full of hope and aching sorrow. And then Chrs Martin completely replicated the songs on the next album and you got Clocks which was just a dull mix of Yellow and Trouble.


ETA: speaking of things we obsess over Monkey Man by the Rolling Stones is one of my favorite songs!

I loathed their new song when it first came out but now I have to admit I am kind of liking it. I do not, in any way, shape, or form get all the fuss about them either. I remember at one of the MTV awards, Justin Timberlake came out and introduced them as the greatest band that ever was or something along those lines. I was like, you've got to be kidding. He was sounding all emotional and the audience was going wild. Another I was half expecting Jesus Christ to walk out with all that fuss. I also don't like that Chris Martin is married to Gwyneth, pretty shallow of me but I find it annoying.
