I guess its a little odd timing .... but maybe the GM thought it would make it more special to your DH????
My FH & I were engaged the day before his friend's wedding, and we told the people at the table we were sitting it.
We didn't tell the couple until the very end of the night, we didn't want to take anything away from their special day.

Men are wierd, the whole wedding atmosphere probably reminded him that he needed to ask your DH, I am almost postive he wasn't thinking too hard about it!![]()

I don't think it was innapropriate. The GM was probably excited and thought it would be nice to tell your DH on such a special day. In his mind he most likely thought he was sharing exciting news with you not I'm trying to steal your thunder news. If that happened to me I would be glad to hear that someone thinks as highly as I do of my DH.I wouldn't think it was a big deal. It would be a 5 second conversation that could not ruin my day or upset me.
