Is it just me...

I know I'm brand new to wearing an engagement ring but I can't stop checking it every five minutes to make sure the diamond is still there. I know it was set correctly but I'm so nervous! Do all of you have your rings insured? Can anyone recommend a good company?

Good post--I have the same fear!! I am CONSTANTLY checking to make sure it's okay LOL.

I read up on insurance too but it seems it's only available through home or renters insurance (I don't have either) so any input would be great!

Theres a website that was recommended on here to insure the ring, but dont rem what it was... I'm sure someone will post it!

And the 'checkin every 2 secs' thing wears off... Until you knock it against something and then of course are praying it didnt fall out! LOL

definitely insure it...Mazz is right about the checking wearing off...i was so paranoid at first but now I dont check it as often...of course if i bang it i look down! But it is definitely a good idea to look into insurance...i have mine insured through homeowners insurance..

mine is through my parents homeowners also... i think its something like 140 a yr

Oh wow! I didn't know it was an option to go through someone else's home owner's insurance... do you have to live at home with your parents to qualify?

i did the same thing when i got engaged and believe me it never gets old. With the ins through your home owners policy it only covers theft and lost that is it. I have my ring ins. by jewelry mutual.com they are great i paid 31 for the year and it has no dec. so that covers lost, theft, loose stones, or if you lose your stone. It is great the only think you will have to do is get it appraised and then fax it over to them and you will get the papers in the mail and then you are insured for 1year. go to that website and you will see

Be careful with that. Their 'insurance' covers resizing, repairs, and if you lose a stone (which is covered for free with the diamond bond)

It DOESN'T cover loss or theft.

I sell insurance, and we have a special policy esecially for engagement rings. It was so funny b/c right after i got engaged, after the phone call to our parents, I called my job and got my ring insured right away. Being in this business you hear way to many horror stories... FM if you want more information

Ooohh and about looking at you ring constatly... you will do it even after it is insured just b/c of how beautiful it is!!!! Trust me.... I asked FH the other day if I will ever stop staring at my ring... and he said he hopes not!!!

I still look at it all the time. I was on the beach yesterday in Montauk and looked down at my ring on the way back and at first thought the big stone was gone...my heart skipped. Then, I was thinking about how I would have to go through all the sand. lol
