Is it just me, or is this wrong to do??
My husband has a credit card with some company, and he is late with his payment. Well the credit card company just called and I said he wasn't home, they then asked if I was his wife, so I said yes. They then went on to tell me his credit info and how the payent is 20 days late and can I pay to make it current. I told them it is my husband credit card, I am no where on his account and they have no right discussing his info with me. He then proceeded to ask me again if I would pay and I told him, NO, he needs to call back. He then asked if I had a statement handy that ended in such and such numbers. I told him look, this is my husbands account, I don't look at his bills and have no clue what he owes you, call back later. What the heck. How in the world do they know who they are talking to. I could have been anyone on that phone, a burgular, or a wrong number playing along with them and they just gave out my husband credit info. DH and I found it best after marriage to continue paying our own seperate bills, so I really don't look at his. I don't want to see our debt. But this guy was so insistant, barely spoke english and really thought I was going to pay him. Plus, we have caller ID and if I am not mistaken, didn't they pass some law where phone numbers had to come up on companies or they could get fined? This guys call came up unknown caller. Oh and something even weirder, the guy had a heavy accent. Well about ten minutes before he called, I got another unknown call on caller ID, from a guy with a heavy accent, asking me about buying the New York Post. And it was weird, but both calls had the same loud backround noise. Do you think this guy was just a fake trying to get money, or did this guy call twice, the first time seeing if a guy answered? I don't know, it was just a weird combination of calls and the guy asked too many questions to me, a person not even listed anywhere on my husbands account. Sorry, I'm rambling now, I am just really po'd about the calls!!![]()
