FH and I ran into another couple who is also getting married. We asked them where they were having their reception and they mentioned the Oceanside KOB which I have always heard good things about. And FH and I said this to them. Then they asked where we were having our reception and we told them. The guy went 'Uh oh.' I said 'What?' and he was like 'Do you really want to know?' I said YES OF COURSE!
And he was like 'Oh, it's nothing. I went to a wedding there a few months ago it and let's just say that all I remember about it is that it wasn't a bad wedding. '
W T F is that? So FH goes 'So, what are you saying, that our reception site is unmemorable?'
He kind of tried to back pedal at that point but not really. Even if I thought their hall was CRAP, I would never say anything even close to what they said about our hall. I didn't care so much at the time.... but looking back on it now I'm like grrrrrrrr.... that was pretty RUDE!

I cannot believe anyone would ever say anything like that. What an obnoxious insensitive cad. He probably wouldn't know what a good wedding was, anyway. Don't worry about it!

That's pretty rude!! Don't pay them any mind. Your wedding is what you make it to be, and Sandcastle has a great reputation.

that was definitely rude - if he had nothing nice to say then he shouldnt have said anything at all!
Aside from that - Sandcastle actually is a nice hall and is known for great food - so just ignore the idiot - some people need to learn social skills
Definately rude! I have heard great things about the Sandcastle only so he was probably just an odd ball.

Yes, that was rude. Why is everything with some people a pi$$ing contest? Why couldn't they either a) keep their mouths shut, or b) say something helpful that you could actually talk to the hall about?

OK I have one adjective for that guy. A$$. Who knows why people say the things they do but he's a jerk. We all know the Sandcastle is a good place. I have been there for a couple of weddings and the food and atmosphere was always good. Who knows maybe the wedding he went to had bad music or something. Maybe he drank too much.
Dont let him stress you out. we have enough things to gt stressed over.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but he asked if you really wanted to know, and you said 'yes of course. He gave you his honest opinion. The 'uh-oh' should've warned you that it wouldn't be good.
Every one has different tastes and opinions, you'll always find someone to say something negative.
I know we are all defensive of our halls and vendors, just trust your own judgement, and don't let it get to you.

Extremely rude!!! I also have heard nothing but great things about Sandcastle! don't let jerks like that get you down!!! Even if I had heard horrible things about someone's hall...I would NEVER say it to them! Especially after it is booked! what was he hoping to accomplish other than upset you! Some people just don't think!

Very rude!!! but on a happier note i work with a person who got married there in february and she raved about it. Also, another co-worker went to a wedding there in february also and she said the food was fabulous!!
