Is it just me... (Sorry long, I need to vent)

Okay ladies I need to vent. My wedding is 11/02 and I am starting to get really crazy. Our response date was yesterday and we still have 28 response cards outstanding (so that's almost 50 ppl) Everyday someone is calling and asking if they can bring a guest to the wedding. Mind you, we were really generous with inviting significant others. Now all of the sudden everyone is in love. To top it off someone called last night and said they were talking to some people about the wedding (who were not invited - I have never met them and my FI hasn't seen these people in years) and they expressed interest in attending. What does that mean??? I am really reaching my breaking point here.

And my dear FI who is so wonderful is trying to keep me calm and reminding me to focus on all of the people who are coming and who are excited about the wedding. Is anyone else feeling this way??

I hear ya!!! A family that I used to babysit for who I am very close to was invited to the wedding. They have not responded yet because the son (who is 16 mind you) won't come unless he can bring his girlfriend because he doesn't want to go alone!!! So she called and asked if I mind. Now they will be 5 people. I felt like a b**** saying no.

What is wrong with people?

We have the same problem. Our wedding is November 8th. Our response date is Friday and we're missing about 25 responses also (50 people).
Thats excluding all the family from out of state who didn't respond at all but we know they live far and probably can't come. What is everyone waiting for? We're going to have to call all these people.

I know what you mean too! You are not alone. My response date was Monday and I am missing about 65 people! Lots of single people who can't decide if they are going to bring a date. I just want to start on my floor plan for I hear it is a nightmare to complete.

It's hard but just try to relax an dnot let it get to you.

Our response date was Tuesday, and we are missing LOTS of responses. I called some people this morning-most were like-oh, we'll put it in the mail today. Today?

Some single people are deciding whether or not to bring dates. Hey folks-you have to make up your minds sooner or later!!

Two of our groomsmen haven't 'officially' responded and neither has my sister. They all say well you know we are coming. Of course I do-but having that little card back will help me do my seating chart. Did they need the stamp for something else??!!

My FH has a new appreciation for sending in RSVPs. He has promised to never, ever send one in late again!

I'm sorry you have to go through this. I'm just wondering how many people I will have to call if/when I don't get a response.

Whenever I get an invitation in the mail, I try to respond as quickly as possible. I wish most people would be like this too.

Speaking of using the stamp for something else...my friend had this fancy christening for her baby with invites with response cards. A friend never sent hers back. My friend had to call her and verbally find out she would attend.

Months after the Chrisening my friend gets one of those little response envelopes in the mail. To her surprise, her friend mailed her a thank you note for a present she gave her in the response card envelope! Nervey!

I'm getting married on 11/02 also. My rsvp date was today and several people from both sides have yet to respond. Although, I know most are coming (close family members), it is still very rude and inconsiderate. My brother has yet to respond!!!!! But I know that is just how he is.

In addition, several of my 'no's' responded this week. I hate when people respond at the last minute. I could have invited others that I crossed off my list b/c I thought there were too many.

I'm trying not to stress myself out.

I know. We've been getting a few responses that people can't attend because they already have a vacation booked or something. Ummm, then why are you waiting til the rsvp date to send it back?

I have to say people have nerve. We are only inviting with aguest if 1- they are married
2-they are engaged3-living with someone 4-or do not Know a single sole at the wedding.MY Fh said when it comes time for this he will be the strong one and we are going to also screen our calls ALOT!

People are just inconsiderate. I can't wait for their weddings. Payback time!! (I wouldn't dare, it just felt good to write it!!LOL)
