Is it just my FSIL that does this or...

We live 6 hours away from FSIL. Whenever she sees her brother (he is 4 years older) she hugs and kisses him on the cheek. THATS NOT ALL. We could be sitting down she would come behind him and rub his back and if we are on the couch she would want to rub his feet. Its all a little too clingy for me. The first time I saw that I was like ***

FSIL and FH aren't like that at all. I'm an only child so its all strange to me! LOL!

Nope, all three of my SILs are like that. It's something that you will grudgingly get used to.

My Fi's sisters are NOT like that at all. I think even he would get weirded out by it, LOL!!!!!! I don't think I would mind though but don't know since I'm not in that boat

both of us are only children. sounds strange to me...

Actually brian's dad remarried and had 2 kids, but when he does see them they dont do that.

That is strange to me. I would never give my brother a back massage or touch his feet. IWww!!
That would freak me out! Thats something you do for your hubby.

Some families just have different personal boundaries, I guess. My big Italian family is very affectionate with each other - we all hug and do the cheek kiss thing (Hello and Goodbye) all the time! If my brothers came over and didn't give me a kiss on the cheek w/a hug, I would think something was wrong. That's just the way we were raised (to show affection).

HOWEVER, that's where we all draw the line. I do not massage their shoulders or rub their feet....that's not affection...that's just plain WEIRD!!!

Same as Claud for me (though we are not Italian...but I could pass for it )
My brother and I hug and kiss on the cheek hello when we see each other - the whole family does! But rub his back? Go NEAR his feet? You couldn't PAY me enough to do that!

I am VERY close to my brothers. I hug and kiss them but you will NEVER find me rubbing their feet or anything else for that matter

That is strange. My FI and FSIL are really close too. He encouraged her to bare it all in New Orleans and was going to give her beads.
If my brother ever told me to flash someone...
anyway, he makes strange comments,
The family teases them and so do I.
It doesn't bother me anymore but at first it weirded me out.

My FSIL doesn't do that, but my FH has this cousin & I have always felt she was a little to touchy, feely with him. Then this past summer at a wedding my FBIL's girlfriend came up to me & said, 'Who is thatgirl with her hands all over my boyfriend?' Then I had to laugh because it was the same girl, but this time she was hanging on my FBIL & his girlfriend was having the same reaction, but said it out loud because she didn't know it was there cousin. After that I said something to FH, but he thinks I'm nuts.
