i don't think u HAVE to have it. at the last three weddings i went to there were no slipper baskets and no one took off their shoes or danced barefoot etc.
the only thing that i did...my cousins wedding was oot and i brought flip flops to change it to for after the ceremony...so i brought my own.
the same thing happened for my friends wedding...2 of my friends brought a change of shoes.
i forgot...im not doing this for mine...but i did get the girls in the bp ff to change in too if they absolutely need to.

Re: Is it necessary?
Of all the weddings I went to only 1 had made a slipper basket. It really was a huge hit, but I'm not doing it. I am getting lazy in my planning days lol. Also, suprisingly lots of women bring their own too

No, I don't think it's necessary!! It's up to you if you want to add that extra to your wedding.

I was planning on it, but the closer i get to my wedding the less projects I want to give myself to do
Totally AGREE!!!! I had all these plans, and as I get closer i think to myself 'ah, I dont' need that'

Re: Is it necessary?
i am not doing it. if its something you want then do it. but i dont think its necessary. Ive never seen one at any of the weddings ive attended. This website gives so many ideas, and we want to do all of them, but its just not possible.
honestly though, i thought about it but have you ever tried to dance on a wooden floor in flip flops? its very hard

Re: Is it necessary?
nothing is 'necessary' it's really up to you if you want to do it or not.
if you do, ppl will love it, but if not, i doubt anyone will say 'dang, why didn't she do a flipflop basket!'

Re: Is it necessary?
its a nice touch---but totally unnecessary--don't feel the pressure...if you don't wanna do it..no one will be mad about it!

Ummm nah!! If you dont want to do it.. then skip it. People will take care of themselves
I want to, but then I realize its an additional expense that I could avoid....
That's what I've been thinking too! I'd really like to do this b/c I know how it feels to have aching feet as a wedding guest, but..... we're paying so much already and working like crazy to do it, so I'm trying to DIY as much as I can. I priced it out, and it would just be an additional expense that's not in our budget.

Not necessary but I wish I had done it (only chinese slippers not flip flops).
I think it's such an awesome touch...
I can't agree more. I haven't seen them at a wedding until I went to FBIL's last year, both of them, and I loved the idea that we had to do it. I was so impressed. I don't think it is a necessity and I don't think it will be missed but I do think it will be remembered. We went for the chinese slippers and are going to ask the dj to give them out like they did at the other 2 weddings (FBIL's). There is a guy at Tri County that you can neg for $2 piece, instead of $3. We lucked out and found a guy at a fair that was selling them for 1 each and no tax. Skip the basket and see if the dj will hand them out. I understand though if you can't afford it, since we are on a very tight budget too but only spent 45 for this.

I'm not. I think they're dangerous! I fall more in flip flops/slippers than any other shoe.

Re: Is it necessary?
not to offend anyone, but i think it is a waste of money. if your guests don't think about choosing the right shoes to wear so they don't hurt their feet (or bring their own slippers/socks/flip flops) then that is their problem. weddings are way to expensive to think of and pay for everything. just my opinion.

Re: Is it necessary?
I'm not doing this. I think it's a cute idea but I don't feel like spending the extra money on it, I would rather spend the money elsewhere! JMO.

Re: Is it necessary?
Not necessary one bit! It's a nice thought but I'd be thinking: What am I going to do with all the extra flip flops that people don't take and how are they going to wear them if they have on stockings????
