Re: Is it normal to plan the baptism before the baby is even out??
Well my church required us to come in a few months before the baby was born so I had the date of the christening for about 2 months before Tara was even born. But I wouldnt do all that planning beforehand. Maybe she wanted to be able to take the time to fuss and figured she wouldnt have the time after the baby comes?

We have the date set already, and we know where we are having it but not anything else.
Re: Is it normal to plan the baptism before the baby is even out??
I am due the end of Sept and want the baby to be christened before the holidays so I have the date picked out however, I have not booked it w/ the church yet. And I want to have the party where we were married (in a smaller room) so I have to book that if they're available, otherwise I might lose it...so, I'll be planning in advance, but not favors and everything...

I had my christening date chosen before my daughter was born. I also attended the required class prior to her birth.

wow, that is some preparation! I was kind of superstitious when I was pregnant....I just wanted the baby to be out and everything to be ok before I started making future plans like that. Some people don't even want to set up their nurserys ahead of time because of that! I knew what month the christening would probably be in, and I thought about what we would do for a party, but I didn't make any definite plans.

I had the date fixed so my in-laws (who all live in Ireland) could book their tickets.
