Is it OK....

Is it OK....

That I just put the rest of my plans off until February?

I still need...

Invitations
hair person
makeup person
flowers
Wedding bands
possibly Ketubah but not emergency b/c Rabbi will provide

I am just overwhelmed with everything - January looks like it will be as busy as December - EVERYONE's b-day in our family is that month - plus I work Saturdays, so every Sun will be a b-day thing, plus we are throwing a surprise anniversary party for my parents Jan 21!!!

February looks a lot calmer, but my wedding is June 17 - is that letting things go way too last minute - 4 mts????

I would look online for your invites and possibly try to go to a shop to see them. You will want to send the invites out in mid to late april. If you want them calligraphied - you will need them in your hands by the first week of April. Some paper companies have a fast turn arround time (2 weeks) but others need 3 months. So, if you can order them in mid january you should be ok.

As for florists, I would try to do it in January. The other stuff can wait IMHO.

I think you will be fine even if you order your invites in Feb. My invites came in 2 weeks. Calligraphy was done in a 3 day turnaround. Take a rest..it will all work out.

As far as the other stuff, there are plenty of brides who have planned whole weddings in 4 months or less!

I would try to a book a florist in January. Keep in mind you dont have to pick your flowers yet - you just need to know roughly what your needs are (ie- # of boqs, corsages, cps).

Otherwise, I think you're good to go.

For everything I would say yes, it's okay - but for Flowers, No - I would get that done by the end of 2005

I would say you're okay. We were engaged for 9 months and planned our wedding in
6 1/2 months and nothing felt rushed. Even for flowers I would say you're okay. We didn't book our florist until September for our November wedding.

I agree with this too, we didn't book our florist until 4 months before.

absolutely ok, we don't need to be planning every second of every day. fh and i have taken many planning breaks. they are not planned, but we did what we wanted to do right away so we'd have plenty of time to relax and enjoy.

take some time, you'll be much more excited about your wedding once january comes

Haha, that sounds like my schedule and my wedding's a week before yours! We did meet with our florist a couple weeks ago for the first time, but only to hash out colors and possible flowers. You definitely have time for all of this!

i would say you'll be fine... my wedding was june 25th ( just about a week after when yours will be) and i did most of the things your talking about starting in february.
the only thing i might think about would be the hair/makeup- if you have a lot of girls that are getting hair/makeup done, you'll need time to find a place/someone who can accomodate them....
flowers, like others said- maybe book a florist now, and then meet with them in february to talk more details, but at least you'll have them 'reserved'.
invitations usually come quick, so i would't worry about that right now....

I'm trying my best to book trials - only problem is I have no money right now to pay for them - probably won't have money til Feb....

I think you should look into your invites because you have to give enough time for you to mail them out and then for your guests to RSVP. and that's ususally done 2-3 months before the wedding

RE: Ketubahs
If you buy a special ketubah and you opt for hebrew calligraphy, it can take a while to get back to you as that can take time. Ours is taking a month from the time we submitted our paperwork (we had to collect all hebrew names from our parents - not as easy as it should have been) to the time we get it back.

Unless you want a hairstylist that is in high demand, I think you can find someone to do your hair quite easily. Same for make up. And now that I think about it, I could say the same for flowers.

I had my invites completed and in my hands by September to be mailed the second week of December for a mid-February wedding.

We just got our wedding bands last week and we are getting married in 2 months.

Hope this guideline helps.

I did the same thing when I got married! Before the holidays I had book the hall, dj, got my dress, and my photographer And I think thats about it!
I booked my florist in feb, ordered my BM dresses the last week of jan, ordered my invites in March, booked the limos in April.

I had NO problems.
Dont stress yourself out, you will be FINE! I got married without a hitch!
