Pay a vendor in full b/f your wedding? For some reason I thought you should hold some money back.

We're doing that with all of them. You first put down a deposit and then the full amount is due closer to the wedding.

I'm only giving them what the require before the wedding. I put all my other money in a high interest savings account. I just figured why should the money be in their hands when I can just accrue interest on it in the meantime?

We did the same thing. We earned alot of intrest in the account and it came in very handy.
They will get paid on their due date. The hall 3 days before, the dj, and limo guy will receive their money the day of the wedding.

We have half of our hall paid already, and are paying the balance one month prior which is in our contract. All of my other vendors we are paying the majority off them now and going to leave minimal balances left more towards the wedding.

I think all require full payment prior to the wedding except the photographer, where the last 20% or so is due when you pick up the proofs....

I think that is whats going on with mine (moms handling the finances) To my knowledge all we have left are the day of payments
ETA: my only fear with payinga vendor in full prior is the horrow stories you rarely(Thankfully) hear about one not showing up or holding their end of the bargain up.

Us too...we are going to pay them all off 2 weeks before the wedding.

I'm not giving anything to anyone besides the deposit until the week of. Who knows what could happen if they have all your money. Call me a pessimist, but I'm not taking any chances.

I only have officiant not paid in full and Duet asks for the last 10% when you pick up your proofs...Everyone is paid in full XOXOXO Kitty
