We will be inviting a few people from both of our jobs, but b/c they are co-workers we don't have their addresses. Is it alright to hand deliver their invites to them at work or if we are out to dinner with them or something like that? Or should I find out their addresses? What's proper etiquette on this?
Editied to say: If we hand deliver the invites will these people think that they were a last thought and we just happend to have an extra invite laying around to give to the next person who we are out with?

I believe the etiquette would be to get their addresses and mail it to them. esp if it's a formal wedding.

Re: Is it OK to hand deliver invites?
I mailed mine to my co-workers but one of them was lost so I ended up hand delivering it.
I'm mailing mine to co workers bc I only want to invite a couple.

Re: Is it OK to hand deliver invites?
We sent an email to ask for mailing addresses to the work people we wanted to invite.
I don't think you should hand deliver the invites.

Re: Is it OK to hand deliver invites?
I hand delivered two of my invitations at work, and nobody seemed to mind, and I didn't think it was a big deal.

Re: Is it OK to hand deliver invites?
I dont think there's anything wrong with hand deliverying. My coworkers work right next to me. I'll just save the postage cost and put it on their desk before they come in in the morning. :)

Re: Is it OK to hand deliver invites?
FH handed all of his invites to people at work. We had a problem where some of them didnt get the save the dates in the mail, so he wanted to hand deliver them so he didnt have to deal w/ them not getting the invites.

You need to get their addresses. You will need them when you send thank you's too!!

I'd say mail them...especially if it is only a few. You wouldn't want anyone else to get offended.

i would get their addresses and mail them. it may be a sensitive topic at work if you hand them out to some people and not all.

Re: Is it OK to hand deliver invites?
When I was planning my wedding, I did a lot of reading about weddings and tradition. I have read that hand delivery used to be the expected way and anything else was considered impersonal!!! However, if someone is coming to your wedding, you should have their address. You will need to give them a Thank You card and what if they change jobs, or you decide, for any reason, that you do not want to give a Thank You card out at work. Also, if you are really ambitious, you may want to send holiday cards out every year to the people who attended your wedding.
See, I was considering sending these scroll invitations that were expenesive to mail and I heard that sometimes the casing would fall apart in the mail. So, I considered spending a Saturday hand delivering as many as I could. In the end I opted for a different invite.

Re: Is it OK to hand deliver invites?
Thanks, for your advice, I know that I will need their addresses for the thank you's, I just thought that since we see these people everyday, it might be nice and personal. But I do see your points.
