Is it okay to.....

Is it okay to.....

I asked my unmarried best friend to be my maid of honor. But, my sister in law to be and I have been close for almost ten years. She is getting married this year and I want her to be the Matron. Do you think my Maid will be offended if I tell her that I want to include my sister in law as the Matron? She would still stand next to me and sign the license and everything.. I just want my sister to feel special and know that I love her too.. what do you think?

I feel like its all in the wording. If you explain that they are both very important to you in different ways and you want them both by your side, I'm sure she will understand.

Besides, she'll have to-- its your wedding

I think it is fine to have both a maid and matron of honor. It personally would not offend me.
I think you should talk to her and explain the situation. That is the only way you will know for sure how she would feel about it.

i see no reason why she would be offended or upset! it's an honor to be a part of your wedding :)

It's def fine! If I were your maid of honor I wouldn't be offended at all.

I totally understand this. I am in fact using my best friend as my maid of honor and my sister-in-law as my Matron. I love them both so much and I never had a sister. They both are the closest things. They are both very happy and it was nice because my sis-in-law just had a baby and my best friend just bought a house. Probably helps to share the responsibility. I'm sure they love you and will be happy about your decision no matter what. Also, just because you've already asked one, doesn't mean you weren't already going to ask the other. Who has to know.

i think it's totally fine! she may even be relieved that she has someone else to help her out.
