Sorry, I don't know of any. I know my church requires that both parties be Catholic. You might want to try a Lutheran Church, I think St. Luke's LC in Bay Shore allows it but I am 100 percent sure.

I don't think so. I think at least one person needs to be Catholic.

I want the dream!!!... the beautiful cathedral church...

A Catholic church will NOT allow this, it's a sacrament for Catholics.

If you are looking for a church for aesthetic purposes try a non denominational chapel.

yeah i don't think so. I remember when my brother and his wife got married, they are both catholic but my sister in law didn't recieve her confirmation so she had to take confirmation classes before she could get married in the church.......

A Catholic church will never allow it. Us Catholics have to pay a fee. As the other ladies said, a Christian church may...but definitely not Catholic....

I don't think so - at least one of you have to be Catholic.

We are both Catholic, and probably can't get married in a Catholic church b/c FH's ex wife is contesting the annulment! I am interested in ideas for non-Catholic churches on the east end if you ladies have any ideas?

I don't think that is possible. As someone said before me it is considered a sacrament.

Its not 'considered' a sacrament, It IS a sacrament to Catholics. And other than baptism, all prior sacraments for at least one of the parties must be completed in the catholic church (communion, reconciliation, and confirmation) for the couple to be eligible. Even then you must attend some form of precana (premarital counseling through the church). Its not easy even for Catholics.

The Catholic Church won't allow it - it's a sacrament.

You can try a protestant church - they may be more lenient.

Maybe I don't know the particulars of the situation...BUT...one of my friends did this. He is Indian and Christian, she was Jewish and converted to his religion. Neither was Roman Catholic but they got permission from Cure of Ars in Merrick to use the church, and they brought in their own priest....Obviously there was no communion but they did get married there and used the traditional Indian ceremony.

I dont know your situation so dont know the reasons you are looking for this but I am getting married at a Unitarian Congregation (church you could say). They have many on Long Island. If you want more information, let me know.

I don't think any catholic church will. One person has to be catholic

I don't think you can from what I gather. My FH and I are both Catholic, were both baptized, took communion, and were confirmed in the same church and they are giving us a hard time about having a mass because we don't go to church every Sunday!
