My cousin has 5,000 to spend and he will be inviting 50 guests. Is this possible to do?

For everything!

Including DJ, flowers, and photo?

Its possible, but it would be a pretty tight budget when it comes to photo and the dj. His best bet is having it at a restaurant.

The best bet would be to have it in a private room at a restaurant and keep it intimate. Skip the coctail hour and just have a sit down dinner. You could probably have sit down with appetizer and open bar for under $50 a head. That would be $2500. Flowers won't be too expensive because there will only be a few CP and the bridal party would probably just be a MOH and BM, you could probably keep it under $500. That leaves $1000 for DJ and photos. I think that's doable, though it will take some time and research.

But in a restaurant, would there still be dinner and dancing?

It's absolutely possible, but they have to cut alot of corners. But it'll be fine, trust me. My cousin just did a wedding for about 100 people for about that much if not less money.

She had the reception at a restaurant with a DJ and an open bar. She had photo & video. The CPs were very small, quaint silk arrangements, But they could do without those too. My cousin did favors, but I say cut them out all together. My mom did my Engagement party at Chateau La Mer for 65 people for around $3k.

FM me if you want more info on either affair. Good luck!

There could be! Some restaurants have a dancefloor! Look at this post.. it was my sister's bridal shower. http://www.liweddings.com/chat/topic.aspx?ID=113266 . It was at Pomodorino's in HAuppauge. It was less than $30 per person for buffet, and included drinks (non-alchoholic) and a desserts. We brought our own cake. As you can see from the pics there is a dancefloor where the presents are set up. There is a nice area where the bar and buffet is. It has a seperate entrance from the restaurant but the only problem it is downstaris and there is no elevator. He should definately go check it out.

ETS: But for that price per person there is definately room in the budget to add a good DJ and photographer (probably not including albums). They should try to do DIY centerpieces like candles or balloons.

i would think so...even brentwood cc has packages that include flowers and the whole shebang (she bangs, she bangs. , i'm in a moooood). but seriously, any restaurant with space, do invites on the computer and have rsvp be by phone or email...some restaurants have their own cp's. have friend of family do video, hire college photo student to do pix, burn a couple of cd's and play them on a cd player...it can be done!!!

There are plenty of restaurants that have private rooms that have a dance floor.

At the Milleridge Inn (the Restaurant) they have private rooms- there is one called the Garden room that is VERY pretty, has a dance floor, space for DJ, etc- they have packages that include flowers.. and he could DEF do something for $5000 there.

Another suggestion may be to rent a small bar/nightclub. They probably have their own DJ and they could just have open bar, passed hors duerves and cake later in the night. It would be more like a big party than a wedding, but if they're ok with that it would probably be a lot of fun. Also, they could forgo the dinner option and have a nice brunch instead.
