Is it really 20%???

Ok, so now that we are getting ready to send out our invites and send envelopes to the calligrapher, our parents threw in a few 'I can't belive we forgots' and our guest list is now at 300

So it is true that 20% really usually say no?

Re: Is it really 20%???

There is a thread on BHB on this very topic. Based on that thread - my answer would be no. Some girls got as little as 5% and some got as many as 50%. There is no guarantee. I will check and see if I have it bookmarked. If so, I'll bump it for you.

I think that is the average, but it is not always accurate.

This is dead on. Some girls have very few NOs and some have tons. We had tons (and we were glad) and were closer to 50%. Largely, it depends on the time of year, what's going on and if people from out of town really remember to 'save the date.' Many forget, no matter how cute the STDs!

We had just over 20% say no. I think it depends on how many out of towners you invite too. We had a lot and a lot said no.

Re: Is it really 20%???

It all depends...We had a lot of OOT guests (more than 2/3 of our guests were from OOT), so out decline rate was 30%.

Re: Is it really 20%???

We invited 215 and had 156 (including kids) - so a 27% no rate. Most were + guests and OOTs. I think the percent depends alot on if you sent STDs (we did not) and % of OOTers.

Re: Is it really 20%???

We invited 355 and 256 are coming. So, that is more than 20%. The more people you invite, the more that usually say no.

I invited 270.. I am struggling to reach 210
I invited alot of people from italy though that I knew would say no.

I also invited alot of people from work who said NO (Guess they have better things to do)

Re: Is it really 20%???

It really depends on OOT guests, IMO.

All of our guests were from OOT, except a few co-workers.

We invited 182
We had 96 on our wedding day
Our minimum was 125
