It's not that I don't want to rest but if you are trying to lose weight you definately need to work out more than 3 days a week.....so if you are working out 5 days a week....there is not that much opportunity to rest...... yes, you have 2 days but depending on my schedule that week I may have to take those 2 days of rest in a row which would mean 4 days of working out in a row.

YES!

Staying active is OK, but working out, especially with weights is bad everyday. for a few reasons.

() Working out produces cortisol - a stress hormone - that will cause you to retain weight. Rest defeats cortisol

() Your body makes changes while at rest and through recovery. No matter what your goal is, rest will help achieve it

() Injury potential is INCREASED.

Sore muscles are a sign that muscles have not fully recovered. DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness), often occurs 24-48 hours after a muscles group is worked. This means that you should allowed atleast 48 hours in between training a muscle group.

More is not always better. Train smart and with function and you will produce better results then training more without function.

Yes, it's bad. They say your muscles need to 'rest' in order to rebuild. You break them down when lifting weights. Not giving them a chance to rest will hinder your results.

What about doing cardio daily? Or should you take two days off from all exercise?
