im dealing with people who are coming to my house. is it REALLY necessary to tip them? don't they just charge the fee? they both own their own businesses
i don't really understand why you would tip

I kinda feel the same way, but I feel bad not tipping. I will prob do like $15-$20.

I think it depends. My makeup person is coming to me, but she works in a salon and is being sent to me from there.
My hair stylist took the day off from her salon to travel to me for the wedding day. I couldn't possibly not tip her because she'd be losing money by having taken the day off from work to come.

that's a good point
i just feel like my people dont work in salons - this is their business so i dont see why i would pay more than what they ask for
but i guess that's teh same for all vendors that own their own companies!

I completely understand. When I was looking for stylists/makeup artists, there was a part of me that felt like tipping wasn't necessary (i.e., the woman who wanted to charge me $500 for hair and makeup for just me).

my MUA/Hair Stylist came to my home and this is her own business. However, I feel like just because you own your own company doesn't mean you shouldn't be charged for exceptional service. I still tipped her

The lady that did my hair came to my hotel she owns her own small shop in her own house and I gave her 20 plus I bought her breakfast. Also I had someone bring her and drop her off at her house.

You aren't supposed to tip the owner! Ugh.
That being said, I will tip my MU artist a little. My hair however...she prob won't be getting a tip from me, but that's because she's charging me a RIDICULOUS fee for 'allowing' my MU artist to come there.
But I totally hear what you're saying! I'm not tipping owners a lot.
ETA: That 'ugh' wasn't directed at you Lisa! It was at the thought of all this dinero!

The day of.....meh.....I guess so. As long as the work is excellent and they don't aggravate you. But for trials? Absolutely not. That's just out of control

Yes, you always tip unless they tell you ahead of time that they don't accept tips. Any service like that, is 15-20%. When you work in that field, you understand it better and appreciate it.
