I wouldn't, I'd be too scared of the answer. . .but if you really want to know, go for it, maybe bring it up casually in a conversation. . .somehow. . I don't know.

it would depend on how good a friend it was. if it was someone not close, i probably wouldn't ask. if it was someone i was surprised about, i'd definitely ask. i'd probably be like 'hey, i got your RSVP, i'm bummed you can't come' just to see what was up.

maybe you can do it in a joking manner.. this way it won't be awkward

I would definitely ask. I don't think it's rude at all. If they choose to make something up or not tell you the truth about it, that's their choice. But it can't hurt to ask. I'd want to know and I did this with a lot of people.

Its not rude if you do it in a nice way like 'oh, im gonna miss you at the wedding- wish you could come' (like PP said)

I would definitely say something though b/ I would want to know why. Esecially if its a good friend.

If it's just an acquaintance then c'est la vie but If it's a good friend, I'd want to know as well.

If one of my good friends couldn't come I'd actually expect them to call me! And they better have a darn good reason. ::folds arms:: ::taps foot::

I don't think so. I would ask. I mean it's a wedding especially if they live around you.
