we were planning on going this weekend? too soon? or perfect timing?

It really depends how soon your shower would be. I know that we registered around March and my shower was in August. some of our stuff was either discontinued or had limited availability by the time of my shower. Our comfortor was purchased but our sheets were not. We went to see if they still had them this past weekend but they didn't. We found others that we liked just as well though.

I would be careful. We registered for our wedding in January for an October wedding. By the time my shower came most of my stuff was discontinued!

well our wedding is in less then 6 months - so i am guessing my shower will be in prob 3-4 months away - do u think what ever we pick out will get discontinured by then?

You can wait to register until January. You can always hint to your family to let you know when it would be a better time for you to register (that is of course, if they know when your shower will be).

I would definitely wait till after the Holidays...a lot of stuff is out now, a lot of limited items, etc...you do not wantot get registered and then it gets discontinued...thats what happened with my shower curtian....we registerd for towels, bath mats, bathroom stuff to match it and the damm curtain was discontinued!

I have been checking mine recently since I know the plans will be starting soon for my shower. I only had one thing discontinued out of 3 registries and I did my registries around April of this year. ( the discontinued thing was a set of snack tables too..go figure..lol) BUT I waited untill just this weekend to do the Bedding. I dont think it will be discontinued in 4 months..and in your case 6 months.
