To book the RH without a food tasting? CLM's food tasting is not until Jan 5. FH and I are afraid if we wait the month to book, our date could be gone. :(

Re: Is it stupid.........?
I booked with CLM and went to the food tasting first but that was because it was the next week so it wasn't like we had to wait a month to do it. The food is great if that's any consolation lol. I know people that have gone to the food tasting after they booked so it's really up to you. Good Luck!

I booked our RH without a tasting. After we booked we got a GC for the restaurant. Plus I looked up Brides reviews on here and other sites too.

All the reviews said that the food at Sans Souci was amazing, so I'm not too worried. But we booked in September and still haven't done a tasting

Re: Is it stupid.........?
I booked mine without a tasting! We have been to Russo's many times before, so we knew the food was fabulous -
It's all based on reputation! I have never heard anything bad about CLM - in fact my sister wanted me to check it out before making my decision - but in any case, you have nothing to worry about! Good luckl :) Hope you guys book it!!!
YAY!!!!!

I think if you're going to a unknown location you'd be making a risk, but you've already done a lot of research, and since being on LIW you have seen all the other reviews so that should make you feel better.
I haven't been to a tasting yet, and I booked this summer. My mom however went to a expo at Giorgio's and she was able to do some tastings for me :)

you could always ask them to hold the date for you following a food tasting you will book.

Re: Is it stupid.........?
We booked last week and are going to our tasting tonight. Alot of places won't even provide a tasting until you make the deposit....it depends on the place. I have no doubt though, based on the reviews, that I'm going to enjoy the food....we'll soon find out.
BTW, I went to the CLM for their tasting last month and the food was very good. LOVED the salmon!!

Re: Is it stupid.........?
i didn't realize that food tasting prior to booking was even an option. so needless to say, we didn't wait until a food tasting to book our place.
and had i known that food tasting was an option, but that it wouldn't happen for a month later, i personally wouldn't have waited. i'd probably just check reviews of the food and had a little faith that it would be fine. :)

Re: Is it stupid.........?
I would say definatly dont worry about booking before the food tasting... FH and I went to one and booked right afterwards... The food is fabulous and all the reviews show that! Its well worth making sure you have your date and going to a tasting afterwards....

i would say 100% TASTE THE FOOD FIRST!!!!!!! We were tentatively booked at a RH we LOVED and FH insisted we do a food tasting and I am soooooo glad we did we HATED the food!!! if it is important to you then i would suggest waiting for a tasting for sure!

Re: Is it stupid.........?
I booked without doing a food tasting.. I did the food tasting shortly after.
You can always ask them if they would be willing to refund your deposit if you do the food tasting and hate the food.

Re: Is it stupid.........?
I booked without a taste testing but I know where they get their meat from. My Uncle supplies the meat to SMCC. I figure I'll have a taste testing when it gets closer to the wedding and I have to decide on the menu.
