we're having a viennese buffet and i want to know if it's tacky if we don't give out favors?
we were originally planning on giving out edible favors (like cupcake or chocolate) BUT i went through our RH contract last night and we have a very extensive viennese buffet! it has candies, cupcakes and even ice cream (how could i have forgoten about that?!). i feel like we're already offering a lot to our guests that no other favor can top it!
so, with that in mind, is it ok if we don't have any favor???

I think it's fine. Just get the boxes for the guests to take stuff home. maybe you can get cute monogram stickers to seal them closed.

I dont think favors are a necessity. FH and I decided we are going to put something on each table saying that in lieu of favors a donation will be made to the American heart association in memory of my grandfather (of course the wording needs to be worked on but you get the jist).

i personally hate favors. i never end up using them...unless i can eat them. i'm doing viennese hour and no favors.

We're having Viennese with the take home boxes included but.. we still feel compelled to give out favors.
I'm definitely ding a non-edible favor though, I won't consider giving something else for people to eat when they're already taking home boxes of desserts.
That's just me. I found personalized stemless wineglasses for less than $2.00 a piece. We're not looking to do expensive favors, but definitely something.

I know this might sound horrible and a lot of people disagree, but to me, the entire wedding is the favor!!!! I never expect to get some crazy favor, I mean you have a night of delicious food, free drinks, amazing music and great company... I don't need something that I am just going to throw away in a week to show me that the people getting married cared about me enough to have me at their wedding!
Will they allow your guests to take things home from the V hour though? I have never heard of this! If this is the case I am definitely going to do that!

you can totally opt out of the favor. My RH actually offers a service where they will send the guests home with little goody bags/boxes with some cookies and chocolates from the Vienesse Hour. You should totally order boxes and get stickers from Etsy for pennies.

great idea! half the favors i get sit in the house collecting dust so sometimes i could care less about them.
