My dress is in and my wedding is not until January. Is is to early to go for a first fitting?? I figure I should go now just to mke sure everything is ok with the dress.

I think it all depends on if you plan to lose weight. If you are, then I would definitely wait to start your fittings until a few months before your wedding. My wedding is in August and I still haven't gone for a fitting yet! My dress laces up in the back, so it won't need to be taken in. I really only need to go for the height, (I'm a shortie!) but I still have another 5 pounds or so to lose as well. So I don't think you need to go yet.. save some fun stuff for later!

My dress came in a few weeks ago (My wedding isnt till next May) and I went in to try it on, check it out, make sure it was the dress I ordered. When it gets closer to the day then I will make arrangements for my first fitting.

My wedding is in March, I went about a month ago to find out how many fittings I will need and how much alterations are going to cost me, and then scheduled my first fitting for Dec.1st, the wedding is March 28,2004. I already lost 57 pounds and it is going to cost me $$$ , but it will be the best $$$ I spent for losing the weight.

I wouldn't go for a fitting yet, but there is no reason why you can't go to see your dress to make sure it is ok and even try it on. I did this in December when my dress came in for my July wedding.
