Is it to early? Need opinions!!

I can't really decide whether it's to early to book a reception site and photographer for a Fall 2011 wedding. I know I can get certain deals if I book those two vendors now and wouldn't want to risk losing that if I decide to wait. Also, if I book now it wouldn't be so much of a financial stress. I'd have more time to pay everything off. I guess I'm just wanting more opinions. I'm getting really mixed reviews from friends & family. Thanks!

NOT too early. you lock in this yrs prices if you do it before 09.... but days arae going by fast. I booked my photog and my RH.

ETA: I booked this year and I have a year inbetween payments to come up with the money. compared to if I would have booked in 2010 I would only have about 4 months to come up with payments and trying to pay everything else, it really takes a stressful turn. Prices are only going up and with the economy the way that it is, places are willing to make deals faster. Also I found out that limo companies are booking for 2011. I think you should go for it. start looking at places and the kinds of deals that you might be able to get. Its never too early. you dont want to regret it later or pay more than what you have to.

Its never too early. You do get to lock in 08 or 09 prices and you have so much time to save and pay things off. Some vendors might say its too early, but thats cuz they want you to wait and pay 2011 prices. Do it now!!

Just a warning... some vendors will act like they dont even want your bisness bc you're so far away... I had a few companies do this to me.. And guess what... they didnt get my biz... so just prepare yourself for that ... and remember theres tons of other vendors out there that would love to have your biz... dont let it discouarge you... i went to a bridal show in june 07 for my wedding in aug 09 and some basically reacted like like they didnt want to be bothered...

bottom line.... you def can start looking at halls... id then hold off a bit on other things...

I agree with mazz but it is 2009 and most people do have 2 yr engagements now. those people i wouldn't give your business to.

it is never to early to start you will get the best prices and your first pick on the vendors you want also you can take your time and wont be stressed

Book everything asap... we just booked our photographer for our wedding and two of the five u choose from the studio were booked for our date already so make sure you get it early... I know were getting married at Jericho Terrace and they have booked for 2011 already as well..

definately start looking now and getting quotes. If you can book something now, go for it!! Its better to book early and make extra payments to the RH as you go along so you dont have a MAJOR payment due 2 weeks before your wedding!! Also if there are vendors who are willing to book you for 2011 now and you know you like them and want them, book it!! Lock in the good prices now, bc the prices are only going to get more pricey as it gets closer to your date!!

Do everything you can now...I shouldnt talk since I havent really done anything but in the end you will be happier and less stressed!

I was serious haha. 2011 seemed so far away to me because I was thinking it was 2008. I mean it is 2008 but is practically 2009. So for some reason I was thinking this was a 3 year engagement not 2 year lol.
