Is it too cold??

To have my ceremony and cocktail hour outside? My date is 10-22-06.
I totally planned on doing both outside but everytime I tell a friend/co-worker they tell me it will be way to cold.
What does everyone think?
I really want to have them outside.

I got married on 10/22 of last year, it was not too cold at all. But I did end up having crappy weather by the end of the day, so what you are planning wouldn't have worked so well.

I saw go for it, we are getting married 10/28/06 and although we are getting married in a church we will be outside for pics, the weather is great in October, cool and crisp!
I say go for it!

I mean if it's raining, obviously I'll do it inside but I always wanted to get married outside so I'm hoping it's not freezing!

last Oct 31 it was so amazing outside. Keep your fingers crossed it will be nice out. Look how nice the weather has beenbg

it totally depends, go to weather.com and check the average temp for that day. that's the best info you'll get. keep in mind, if it's sunny, it'll feel 5-10 degrees warmer than the actual temp. in October, you can get a nice 65 degree day or a chilly 45 degree day, you'll have to be flexible.

it dont think so! but maybe you should wait until october comes and maybe talk to your hall then - who knows with our long island weather!

It depends. October could go both ways. We had a BBQ at the end of October (since we didn't have one in the summer like normal people) and it was awesome. But, we were all wearing hooded sweatshirts after the sun went down. I would be careful with that. Remember 3 or 4 years ago it was 80 degrees in December. I went to see the Christmas tree and I was wearing a t-shirt. Weather is so unpredictable.

The fall is normally a nice time of year, but unlike the summer months, once the sun goes down, brrrrr. As a meteorologist born on October 22, I know that date well. You could be very lucky and have a great, wonderful sunny day. I would hope for it. But you need to be prepared for anything.

If you look at climatological data, remember to look at the normal low, along with the record low. The low temperature is what you will be closer to most of your event. (Unless you reception ends before 6pm) And, if a day is sunny and beautiful, that means the night gets colder. (Clouds act as a blanket at night, keeping the temperature up. If they aren't there after sundown, wow you know it)

If you want an outdoor wedding, go for it! But ask your reception hall to have heaters ready, just in case. It's the same as those getting married in July outdoors, you need available options if it rains. If a place doesn't give you options, they should, and I'd look elsewhere to make your dreams come true. Many places have heaters for outdoor events. Good luck!

I agree that the weather could go either way. Sometimes it is a gorgeous day on my birthday and sometimes it is a little chilly on my birthday! I hope that the weather is absolutely amazing for you next year on my birthday!

How many times have you worn a short sleeve shirt in December? Weather is really a fluke sometimes.... you may get lucky.... you may not. You may have to do it inside, be prepared.

I love October weather. people don't know what they're talking about. they talk because they have a mouth, no thought goes in to it.

Absolutely not! Just try and remember how freakin' hot it was on Halloween last year! It was GORGEOUS!!! I'm praying for that day again this year...except on the 30th!
