for me to start dress shopping? what do you think? i just want to make some appointments, cuz i have ants in my pants!
ok, lots of ladies gave me the greenlight on this one so i've made an appt at david's...heres the question and i target this to my curvey ladies:
if you've gone to david's, what were the sample sizes like?
i am a 9 bottom, but my top is bigger so i am scared that i'm too much of a fattie/booby girl for try ons in general i know sample sizes are sometimes 10/12--real life 6's lol, experiences anyone?

Wait till at least your year mark! Go dress looking - nothing wrong with that but don't order till your year mark or even up to 9 months till.
Please read how many brides are changing their minds now their dress has been ordered because people do change their minds!
yeah but the problem is some designers take a while, some even a year to come in and then after it comes in you still need alterations done...my dress is taking a year, if i didnt get it in march then i would worry about it coming in and having time for alterations...even now im worried lol
Yeah same with mine. I ordered it in April and i hope it's gets here in time.

Yea like go looking and ask the store when do you need to order this dress.. that is what i did and held off for a month just so i wasn't ordering too early.

I'm not sure if i'm answering your question right but I HATED my experience at david's bridal! I looked fat in every dress (and i'm a size 4) all of the dresses gave me underarm cleavage...I don't know why....and also, I usually wear a size four and they put me in a size four dress (which is odd, usually at bridal stores if youre a four, they put you in a size 8) I think at David's Bridal, you go by the size you usually wear everyday because the sizze four I tried on wasn't tight or anything, it was exactly my size... Some designers have a standard sample size..but Doesnt matter....they will pin the dress to you for the effect. But for the most part Ive seen alot of 10/12's, you should be OK.

Re: is it too early---new question added
Davids (at least the one out here) has samples in almost every size. I tried on dresses and i'm certainly not a size 10.
It was the first place I went to try on dresses since I knew I'd be able to see a few different styles there. I wouldn't recommend alterations there tho.

Re: is it too early---new question added
david's is not like a regular dress place with one sample size
it is off the rack and they have all sizes. . . but you can order dresses also
only thing with david's is that if you order the dress it comes like right away then you have to worry about storage, yellowing etc.
i will never step foot in that place again - had a terrible experience there. . . i would REALLY suggest going elsewhere for your 'first time' lol
my 'first time' was at bridal reflections and it turned me off from dress shopping so much that i actually made myself sick the next time i had to go - i think even if you dont buy a dress the first time it has to be a fun experience

Re: is it too early---new question added
start now!! why not! try one a million dresses until you find 'the one'!! I knew what dress i wanted so i havent tried on anything else since i found it!! I would say to start looking eary because if u start looking too late and dont find 'the one' right away you might just settle. Start looking early and you will have plenty of time to pick and order. good luck!
I would like to make a suggstion...i got my at helens in commack ( its in wedding world) The people there are sooooo nice and the prices are great!!!
