It seems most of you have sent out your STDs. I had waited for 2 reasons. 1st I had read somewhere (the knot I think) that you aren't supposed to send them out more than 6 months before and 2nd I wanted to use our engagement pics for them. We are taking our engagement pics on Sunday, but now I'm thinking I waited to long to send them out. What do you guys think?
I sent mine out about 6 months ahead of time.. so you defiantly have time... We had a lot of OOT guests and I wanted them to be able to make travel arrangements.. but you can send them really any time you want
you're fine, my book of wediquette says you should send them out 6 - 9 months in advance
dont worry what the other lovely ladies have done. You can send your STD now it is not too late. Look on the bright side you did not send it 2 months before the wedding. HTH

I think you can still send them out. May is a popular time and remember they won't get an invite until approx. 3 months before. And, STD is a nice momento- esp. with an epic!
no it's not too late at all!! we sent ours out earlier b/c our wedding is memorial day weekend. if it weren't a holiday weekend i would have waited until november.
You're not too late at all!!! My wedding was this past July and I sent mine out in Jan (exactly 6 months in advance)!
I'll be sending mine out at the end of November. Approx 10 months from our wedding.
I would try to send them soon - definately before the end of this year. Around the end of the year is when people start to talk about vacations for next year. If they need to travel for your wedding, they need to factor the cost into their plans and also make sure not to schedule something else for that same weekend.

i placed my order last week. they should arrive next week. this weekend is 8 months, so i will send them out with the next 2 weeks hopefully. i have a bunch of oot'ers and a lot of people don't know i am getting married, even though i have been engaged over a year.
I don't think it is too late at all. You might as well wait to use the e-pics those will look so gorgeous for your STD's.
We're sending ours out probably about 11-12 months ahead of time. However, we'd normally wait a while but a lot of FH's friends are in residency (doctor training post med school) and have to make up their schedules about a year in advance. It's also difficult to get weekends off sometimes, so we wanted to give them A LOT of notice. Otherwise, we probably would have waited until 6 months or so ahead of time.
I have not sent them out yet. I will maybe in Oct or early NOv. I know which ones I want but Im just soo lazy to do anything, I will start soon though

I felt the same way, I wanted to send them out a year in advance, then I was waiting to get some good photos of us, then I never took any new pics, so I felt pressured, now its less than 8 months away, and I finally designed my own and just ordered them. Probably get them out at the 7 month mark.
you can send them out whenever you want. I always thought a year was good this way they had A LOT of notice. good luck with your e-pics!
You have time to send them. My wedding is in June & I have the STD's but I'm still working on getting the list finalized & getting together some addresses.
