WE are getting married july 3 next year. We will all be staying in the same hotel. I know most people do brunches these days the morning after, but since it's the fourth of July the next day, we were thinking of hosting a bar-b-q the next day instead. Our hotel gives us breakfast vouchers to put in our guest bags, so guests will still get breakfast on us, just not a big brunch together. Is it too much to do the bar-b-q? He'll have family here from Ireland and I will have a ton of OOTers, too.

i guess it depends on whether or not you have the space or who you are inviting..and also are you really going to want to host a bbq the day after your wedding? i don't think i'd want to but it sounds like a nice idea..

My cousin recently did this and it was great! The wedding goes by so fast, it's nice to have an informal party to visit with OOT guests.

We're not thinking anything TOO big, and we would hold it at his parents' house. They have a nice backyard with a great pool. We don't want to do anything fancy, just hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. So it's not going to cost a fortune. I don't know, I guess it's something we can decide as we get closer.

Ya, nothing fancy. Just a good old fashioned BBQ. I say go for it. Your guests will appreciate it and it will help everyone unwind from the past nights festivities!!

I think it would be a great way to end a fantastic weekend for your out of town guests and family.
