FH wants a funny cake topper. There is one with the bride dragging a cop. It's cute but I do't know if it's overkill on the cop theme since the invatations had pictures of us when we were little in police hats (pictures in album) I don't think we are actually putting it on the cake anyway, I just thought we would put it next to it. That depends on FH, for some reason it's one thing he really wants (not this particular one, just a funny topper)
I put a funny cake topper on the groom's cake and we had a Lenox cake topper on the one we cut.

I don't like those cake toppers as the only one you're using--I think it says something bad about the couple if they choose to represent themselves in such an unfortunate way. But if it's a joke next to the cake, with others, or on the groom's cake, I think it's OK. And if it's your DH's only request, pretty much, for the wedding, then you should let him have his 'funny' topper. Just not on top of the cake. Guys just don't seem to get that 'joke' all that much.

I am going to put our funny cake topper (I got for FH because he realllllty wanted it) and he has not asked for all that much in this whole planning process.... so I am putting it on the cake table off to the side...

if FH decides he wants a funny cake topper, he can put it on his funny grooms cake. lol. We found a gorgeous cake topper that goes with our entire theme perfectly, and if theres one thing im gonna be a bridezilla about, its my daisy theme,. lol.

I totally disagree - a funny cake topper says nothing bad about the couple, it just shows they have a sense of humor and are aware of the magnitude of their commitment. Besides, if the groom is adamant about it, then give it to him - lots of grooms could not care less about the minor wedding details. I think it's nice that he cares and wants to be represented. It's his day too.

I don't think it's overkill at all for your cop theme, I think it's cute. Tho I'm not a fan of the bride dragging the groom idea, what about something like this or this?

i say have it as a side topper next to the cake--as a joke. but i don't think those type of toppers look as good on top of a cake. everyone is different--but those toppers seem kind of weird on an elegant wedding cake.
instead of getting a cop cake topper---you can get a cop themed groom's cake! those look so awesome when done right!

like this is cool
obviously you can change the badge to be whatever dept. he belongs too--but i think this is a nice touch
