Is it true that it is bad luck to use the things that are sent from your registry before the wedding? FH and l live together and wanted to know if this was true...cause we could use a new comforter! But hey, we don't want to jinx anything.

I've never heard that one. Just that you shouldn't handle knives at your shower (not sure why)
I live with FH & we are already using our dishes. I got a new job since then, so I personally don't think it's bad luck.

My shower was Saturday & I used so many things so far to cook & all. I have to go to Fortunoffs tomorrow to exchange my bed set because they bought the wrong size & I want to use it nOW!
I never heard of that or I wouldn't have used them

I heard you can use your engagement gifts, but it is bad luck to use your shower gifts before you are married. Italian women have strange superstitions, so who knows??

That is so funny - italians do have the strangest superstitions. My family made sure they all turned my engagement ring 100 times......A year later I still have no idea why :)

I was told not to, so I didn't. It was actually great to take everything down from the attic and start using it after the wedding!

I heard that is was bad luck so all our girts were ar my parents. the only gift we actually used was our Forman grill which we did not register for .... I know alot of people who did not use it till they were married,,, I heard all types of bad luck things but they came from my sister MIL

I've heard that about baby showers (again from Italian moms) - something like setting up the room is bad luck, preparing too much...
I used my gifts before the wedding, and we've been pretty lucky so far!

I think we will most likely use the things we get. But so far all we've gotten is china, and I don't see us using that before hand. I'll just keep my fingers crossed until the wedding
