Is it uncommon not to throw anything outside of the church?

Is it uncommon not to throw anything outside of the church?

I realized not too long ago that I'm not allowed to have people throw anything at all outside of the church. I know that I could do bubbles, but it may be so cold outside and I don't know if that will effect them I also could do sparklers, since it may be getting dark when the service is over. But then I think about how many brides on here have said that they didn't even notice the bubbles/flower petels/etc. on their wedding day, or it didn't work out according to plan. And I also don't want people to have to stand outside in the cold for too long. Not to mention I only have 1 1/2 hours to take my pictures. I need some feedback. Should I just skip it all together? What do you do then? Do people just leave after the receiving line or do they just cheer or something when you come out????

I honestly dont know. I have never seen nothing done when the bride and groom walk out of the church.

Maybe you can do some type of a butterfly/dove release or maybe you can have the limo people have balloons or something and they can give them to the guest or they can let them go in the air?

I really dont have any other suggestions

I hope this help

Good Luck

I have the same issue as you, except it will be light out so no sparklers (we're going to do them as we exit the reception though!)....I'm thinking of seeing if I can use these Streamer Throws....they stay attached to the capsule thing they come out of so you can just throw them in the trash afterwards (which you'd probably have to have someone coordinate).

Streamer Throws

I definitely don't want bubbles b/c I think usually you don't notice them at all....but I do want something!

ETS: My church said the reason for no throwing stuff was the mess it leaves, so I figured these would be easily cleaned up by us, so maybe it would be ok....we shall see though!

We aren't allowed most things and I don't want bubbles because I am scared of staining my dress. I think I am going to do rose pedals even though we aren't allowed

my church also does not allow petals or rice its fine. you could always do those little ribbon thingies that people wave. it makes for pretty pictures. i don't think i'll be doing anything though.

i'm not doing anything.. because my ceremony starts at 4.. by the time it's over, i'tll be dark and cold.. lol. i'm not gonna ask folks to stand outside and wait in the cold for me to come outside.. the last winter wedding i went to, a january wedding.. when we came past teh receiving line, we went on outside chatted amongst ourselves and then dipped..
