Is it weird...

to have a flower girl that you've only met twice?

The other night we had our engagement party and when I was saying goodbye to FH's cousins daughter ( 8 yrs old) I was asking her if she had a good time and if she was gonna come to our wedding and she looked at me and said 'I want to be a flower girl at your wedding ' It was SOO cute!! (and I was so flattered since it was only the 2nd time I met her). After that I was thinkin of having FH ask his cousin if her daughter could be in the bridal party. I remember when I was little I always wanted to be a flower girl but all of the adults I knew were already married

This little girl is the same age as FH's daughter (they were actually born the same day, an hour apart) and the other night they had a blast hanging out together and dancing at the e-party. I thought it may be good for FH's daughter to have another kid in the bridal party w/ her (FH's nieces were going to be our flower girls but now they are living w/ their dad b/c there is a bad custody battle going on).

Aww that's so sweet. I'd talk to FH first since it's his family and test the waters. He'll probably know better if the parents would be down for it or not.

But I think it's a nice idea. It'd make that little girls day and probably make FH's daughter a little more confident and entertained on the big day.

i dont think its weird. even if u met her twice, it no biggie, cuz im sure fh has seen her a bunch of times before........ right?

Ehhhh... yes and no...

Our flower girl I have only met once. She is FH's cousin's kid. She's kind of obnoxious but they all melt around her so I said fine... FH seems to be happy about having her.... But then I think about all of these pictures I see of brides and their FG's dancing and all these cutesy pictures and I won't have that because this kid is going to have NO clue who I am!!! LOL!!! She's much younger than your FG though and your FG put in a request (which is friggin adorable) so I think it'll be fine. And since she's a little older already she'll probably remember it for the rest of her life!!!

Thanks girls! I think maybe I'll mention it to FH and see if he thinks its a good idea. I just friended his cousin on facebook today lol but I wouldn't want to ask her over facebook haha.

FH doesn't know his cousins daughter that well-he hasn't seen his cousin too much since she got married and had kids....

But I think it would make his cousin's daughter's day and she & FSD would have a blast hanging out together. FSD told us on the phone today that at our wedding she doesn't want anyone else to be on the dance floor except her and her little cousin-she wants everyone to watch them dance the entire night. Uh oh-I think we have a junior bridesmaidzilla lol...
